Jackson Press Books
Rooted in the South. Written from the heart.
Jackson Press Books celebrates Southern voices in fiction, creative nonfiction, and children’s/YA literature.
We publish stories that capture the spirit of the South—its people, places, humor, grit, and grace. Whether it’s a heartfelt family tale, a vibrant adventure, or a slice-of-life memoir, our books honor the region's richness through storytelling that matters.
About Us
We are currently not accepting unsolicited materials.
Watch for new submission guidelines to be posted in 2026.
Jackson Press Books is an independent publishing company dedicated to uplifting stories from the American South or by Southern writers. We focus on three key genres: fiction, creative nonfiction, and children’s/young adult literature.
Our imprint is grounded in quality storytelling and a deep respect for Southern culture—not in cliché or stereotype, but in nuance, emotion, and voice. We aim to provide a platform for authors who write with honesty, curiosity, and heart.
The logo—a simple line drawing of a donkey standing on a book—reflects our values: humble beginnings, strong footing, and a steady journey forward. We may be small, but we’re serious about good stories, thoughtful design, and meaningful publishing.
In 2025, we are building a foundation for future collaborations and select projects that align with our vision.
